Michael Schur was inspired to create "A Man On the Inside" after watching the Chilean documentary "The Mole Agent"

Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. He says: "The Mole Agent" documentary is powerful because it makes people feel incredibly similar regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender, and I would describe that feeling in a very reduced way as, “I have to call my mom.” In our show, we tried to do a similar thing with the tone: Basically, does our show contribute to that feeling of wanting to call moms?.

How can you not appreciate Ted Danson. The guys are legendary, like Tom Selleck’s mustache.

In any case, I think this show is a guy of everything

Some pretty funny lines, two very attractive female leads that never hurt, and also a great message about the connections that are made in life. Especially in the later stages, when things really matter for the right reasons.

I also found that this show resonated with me, as it touches on dementia

The recent loss of my father, who battled this terrible disease, simply made me more connected. However, as each episode went on, I found myself getting more involved and finding each character charming and lovable in their own unique way.

I definitely recommend this series, and I’m looking forward to a second season

It feels good, not totally gut-wrenching like some of the scenes in the classic film "On Golden Pond", and all in all it’s just a relaxing and well-written show.
