Scenario
Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers a private investigator ad and becomes a mole in a secret investigation into a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary “El Agente Topo”. Remake of Salainen agentti vanhainkodissa (2020). I think a lot of fiction is naturally intended to make you think something along the lines of “It was an honor to share the lives of these fictional characters.” This show undeniably hits that goal well. Even those who come for the mystery, which has allowed it to have less focus, should be fascinated by the humanity that is brought forth not only in the writing but also in the performances of all the cast members. Kudos to all the departments involved. Although Netflix has been tough on series renewals lately, I hope they realize the potential of this show by granting them a second season because I hope to see more of these incredible characters’ journeys.
